The nature tracks, that can be followed by bicycle or rickshaw, penetrate the various typical natural environments of Bibione: the pine grove, the lagoon, the countryside, all extraordinary places where one can observe local flora and fauna from close up. The art itineraries take you on a discovery tour of the Roman sea villa in the area known as “Mutteron dei Frati”, and anyone interested in spending a day surrounded by nature and atmospheres from the past can visit the casoni, ancient rustic dwellings near the mouth of the Tagliamento. Formerly fishermen’s dwellings, they are a fascinating example of spontaneous architecture, recognizable thanks to their rectangular shape and the ingenious use of poor materials such as wood and reeds. Delicate tasting white asparagus, hardy Arborio rice ideal with fish, bass, gilthead bream, sardines and river shrimp, washed down with traditional CAO wine from Lison Pramaggiore or with the famous grappa from Veneto, are but a few of the surprises awaiting enthusiasts of gourmet tourism.
